Player1.5 Mid Icarus

After playing in these for about 2 months 4 times a week, I've really enjoyed the look and feel of these shoes. There was little to no break-in time and no discomfort around the toe box, side panel, ankle collar or with the uppers. The cushion was one of the favorite parts of the shoe. Enough to last me a session and low enough to make me feel confident in the movements I made.There were a few aspects that prevented me from giving it 5 stars. Firstly, the traction/rubber picked up a lot of dust and affected the performance, which wasn't what I expected because my pair of P1plus didn't have that problem. Lastly, the carbon fiber shank cracked on my left pair. Don't really see a performance drop after cracking the carbon fiber. It's more of a visual thing for me. Overall, solid shoe. I would consider buying another pair if the rubber issue is addressed.

Too much cushioning! I wear barefoot shoes and there’s so much cushioning, I don’t have any court feel so I’m constantly tweaking my ankles which is ironic for a mid-top

Slightly more snug than p1 plus but overall I like it, the cushion around the ankle really wraps your foot. Traction even better than before, maybe best shoe I've ever worn all around.

Been using the SPO Player 1.5 Mid “Icarus” recently and honestly, I’ve been really enjoying them. I originally got interested in them because of Xaivian Lee, and the design actually looks even better in person than it does in pictures, which was a nice surprise. I got a EUR 44 and the sizing felt true to size overall. Since I’m flat-footed, I did have to loosen up the forefoot a little to get the right amount of room, and I’ll probably need to find that sweet spot with the lacing so I can keep the lockdown without losing too much grip. The tongue was also shorter than I expected, but it wasn’t really an issue. On court, the traction has been really good, even on dusty courts, and the lateral movement feels solid. The shoe also feels light and quick, which I really liked, especially for a shifty guard-style game. I’ve used them for both basketball and volleyball and they’ve felt great in both. The cushioning is another highlight for me — jumping and landing felt really nice and comfortable. In terms of build quality, they don’t feel cheap at all and durability seems good so far. I honestly don’t have any major complaints about them at this point. Considering how expensive shoes like Kobes can get, I’d say the price is pretty reasonable for what you’re getting. Overall, I’d say the Icarus is a really enjoyable option for players who like a lightweight, quick shoe with good traction and cushioning.
